Our specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice offers a variety of surgical procedures, all of which are outlined on this website. Patients are provided the option of having surgery under local anaesthesia, intravenous (or "twilight") sedation or general anaesthesia.
We are conveniently located on the same premises as a two-theatre day surgery at 28 McCourt Street, West Leederville, just opposite St John of God Subiaco Hospital.

Dr Brent Allan
Bachelor of Dental Science – University of Otago, New Zealand – 1982
Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – University of Western Australia – 1991
Dr. Allan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1982. He gained his Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Western Australia in 1991.
His surgical training took place in Australia, the UK and USA. Dr. Allan is currently working as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in private practice. His previous International appointments include Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle and the Children’s Hospital and University Medical Centre in Seattle, USA. His previous National appointments include Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital. Dr. Allan is currently the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Department at St John of God Hospital Subiaco. He was awarded the Medical and Optical Martin Travel Scholarship in 1997.
His areas of surgical special interest include surgical correction of dentofacial deformity, maxillofacial reconstruction and advanced osseointegrated implant techniques. Dr. Allan has presented lectures and surgical training programmes in Australia, South East Asia, the USA and England.
Julie joined the practice in 2003 and after a short break in 2016 has rejoined the team.
Julie is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Dr Allan’s private practice as well as coordinating the orthognathic surgery and implant treatment plans.
Mich joined the team in 2011 as a Medical Secretary. She is responsible for administrative work and the day to day coordination of the theatre lists for Dr Allan and other specialists at McCourt Street Day Surgery.
Emma joined the team in 2014 as an Oral Health Therapist. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Oral Health Therapy from Curtin University.
Emma assists Dr Brent Allan in theatre and consultations. She is integral in the management of surgical patients including pre-operative assessments and impressions, as well as post-operative reviews.
Ashley joined the team in 2016 as an Oral Health Therapist. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Oral Health Therapy from Curtin University.
Ashley assists Dr Brent Allan in theatre and consultations from Monday to Wednesday. She is integral in the management of surgical patients including pre-operative assessments and impressions, as well as post-operative reviews.
Dayna joined the practice in 2019 as a junior receptionist. While she is often answering the phone to book patients in for consultation and has direct patient contact on reception during consulting days and day surgery lists, her primary responsibility is for typing Dr Allan’s surgical reports and managing correspondence to referring consultants.
The practice of Dr Brent Allan is located at 28 McCourt Street, West Leederville, opposite St John of God Subiaco Hospital. It is close to West Leederville and Subiaco train stations and there are buses to and from the city and the coast from Cambridge Street.
The practice is on the same site as McCourt Street Day Surgery and Dr Allan carries out all his day case procedures here in the day surgery.
The day surgery is equipped with two full sized operating theatres and recovery rooms and is licensed through the West Australian Department of Health and accredited against the National Safety and Quality Health Standards.
There is off-street parking, including a disabled bay, as well as wheelchair access.
